ELDERBERRY SYRUP

Elderberry syrup is rich in antioxidants, has potent anti-viral activity and modulates the immune response. It is a traditional remedy for the common cold, reducing symptoms (and duration) of fever, aches, pain, cough and congestion.

BENEFITS

YOU'LL NEED

Elderberries, water, honey,  spices, citrus, ginger.

ELDERBERRY SYRUP

Simmer elderberries  with spices, lemon zest  and ginger slices.

STEP ONE • PART ONE

Reduce liquid by half, remove from heat and  let stand 30 mins.

Cool, strain through  muslin, collecting the  liquid in a jug.

Add raw honey.

Stand jug in a pot filled  with hot water to  dissolve honey.
