Firstly, the texture should feel like damp sand, and hold together when pressed. Secondly, a common mistake when filling is to pack the mixture in tight before you bring the two halves together. Don&rsquo;t do that - fill it evenly, gently pat it down, then add some more. The over-filling is essential - and when you press the two halves together, it will compact nicely and come apart easily. Follow both these points and I can promise you no fail bath bombs galore!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Why won&rsquo;t my bath bombs join when I pull the mold apart? <\/strong>Most likely, they&rsquo;re over-filled, and the mixture has been compacted too hard. Start again, and go a little easier.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Why do my bath bombs look good at first, then spread out like cookies in an oven? <\/strong>Yep, been there. Many recipes call for witch hazel or a spritz of water - I think it&rsquo;s totally unnecessary - the bath bombs need to be completely dry (aside from the oil), otherwise they&rsquo;ll eventually start to fizz, hence the spreading mass.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How long does it take bath bombs to harden? <\/strong>Impatient one, typically overnight, but I bring good news - you can speed the process up by placing them on a lined oven tray and leaving them in the oven set to &lsquo;warm&rsquo; (about 50&#730;C\/122&#730;F)&nbsp; for about four hours.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Where can I find essential oils? <\/strong>From me beautiful! Firstly, the texture should feel like damp sand, and hold together when pressed. Secondly, a common mistake when filling is to pack the mixture in tight before you bring the two halves together. Don&rsquo;t do that &ndash; fill it evenly, gently pat it down, then add some more. The over-filling is essential &ndash; and when you press the two halves together, it will compact nicely and come apart easily. Follow both these points and I can promise you no fail bath bombs galore!<\/li>\n<li>If your bath bombs don't hold together when you pull them apart, they&rsquo;re over-filled, and the mixture has been compacted too hard. Start again, and go a little easier.<\/li>\n<li>If your bath bombs spread out like cookies in an oven once you've made them, it is because they have been exposed to water somewhere along the way, so have started to fizz.<\/li>\n<li>You can use good old ice cube molds if you cant source bath bomb molds<\/li>\n<li>Bath bombs need to be kept in an air tight container.
